4 Children, 1 Adult, Drown After Vehicle Crashes Into Panola County Creek

Five children died in a wreck in Panola County Tuesday night. According to Panola County Coroner Gracie Gulledge,  they were all cousins.

Coroner Gulledge said that the wreck happened around 10:00-10:30 p.m. on Curtis Road near James Road.

There was one vehicle involved in the crash.

Deputies told WMC that the vehicle crashed into the barricade of a bridge and went into Mclvior Creek below.

The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said that one passenger, who was 14 years old, was able to get out of the vehicle and call 911.

Coroner Gulledge identified the people in the vehicle as 19-year-old Tea’ltaeipa Wenster, 14-year-old Montraz Webster, Destiny, 15-year-old Liphford, 12-year-old Jamerian Towns, and 13-year-old Earl Holmes.

They will all be going to the same funeral home.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
