A Bay Springs woman is behind bars, charged in an arson from a little more than two weeks ago.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Jessica Sellers in connection with the the burning of a fifth wheel camper on John Griffith Road in the Glade community on July 16th.
Volunteer fire departments from Glade, M&M and Powers responded to the fire and found the camper engulfed in flames.
“We greatly appreciate the assistance of the Mississippi State Fire Marshall’s Office in investigating the cause of the fire,” JCSD Fire Investigator Sgt. J.D. Carter said. “The charge of arson carries up to a 20 year prison sentence if convicted.”
Sellers was taken into custody at the Jones County Sheriff’s Department on late Monday afternoon. She is being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending her initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.
