On Sunday, August 6, at approximately 12:14 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash at the intersection of Highway 48 and Highway 24 in Amite County.

A 2020 Western Star Cement Truck driven by 62-year-old Roy D Perkins of Centreville, MS, traveled east on Highway 24 when it collided with a 2016 Dodge Charger driven by 22-year-old Antwuan L Coleman of McComb, MS, traveling west on Highway 48.

Antwuan L Coleman received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.
