An officer-involved shooting that happened early Wednesday morning is currently being investigated by The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

The incident happened near Goodman Road in Horn Lake, when Horn Lake police tried to pull over the driver of a Jeep Cherokee.

Authorities report that officers deployed “stop sticks” to attempt to flatten the vehicle’s tires and stop the driver.

The female driver then kept driving even though all four tires were flat.

During the pursuit, officers were able to stop the vehicle using what they call a “Tactical Vehicle Intervention” maneuver on Goodman Road between I-55 and U.S. 51.

Police say the driver then pointed a revolver at one of the approaching officers.

The officers fired back, killing the driver.

MBI said it’s currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence.

Four Horn Lake police officers were placed on administrative leave.

After completing its investigation, the agency said it will share its findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
