On Saturday, April 20, the Jackson Police Department began a death investigation in the 2600 block of Belvedere Drive.
Detectives discovered that two individuals had been shot at the location and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, detectives believed the incident to be a murder-suicide, with evidence suggesting that the female victim shot the male victim before taking her own life.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, and the incident was thought to be domestic in nature.
However, upon further investigation, detectives reclassified the case as a double homicide. A person of interest was identified.
On June 3, Marvin Maas was arrested in connection to the double murder.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Jackson Police Department urges anyone with additional information to come forward.
