Weather Alert Day: Extreme heat and humidity

High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s with some rain likely, causing very high humidity. This will cause dangerous heat stress over the region and extremely dangerous heat stress across the northwest Delta.

From the National Weather Service: The combination of persistent heat and humidity will reach extremely dangerous levels through Saturday, especially across the northwest Delta. Heat indices will reach the 105 to 110 degree range for the entire area, while in the 110 to 115 degree range in the northwest Delta. Residents should avoid prolonged outdoor activity, stay hydrated and take frequent breaks.
