Friday Memorial set for fallen Pascagoula police K9 Exo

Pascagoula police K9 Exo and his handler, Officer James Prisock. Exo was killed in the line of duty on June 23, 2022.

A memorial service has been set for July 1 for Pascagoula Police K9 Exo, who was killed in the line of duty last week.

Officials said Exo was part of a search for Mitchell Wayne Robinson, 36, who was wanted in a shooting that happened about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Exo and his handler, Officer James Prisock, were tracking Robinson when he fired on the officers, hitting Exo twice in the chest.

Robinson was shot and wounded. He was taken to a local hospital.

K9 Exo was transported to a veterinary hospital where he died from his wounds.

A Facebook post by Pascagoula Police Department states:
“A Memorial Service in honor of K9 Officer Exo will take place on Friday, July 1st, 2022, at the Pascagoula Senior Center located at 1912 Live Oak Avenue Pascagoula, MS 39567. Our fallen hero’s ashes will be escorted from Mobile, AL to Pascagoula, MS. Services will then follow at 11:30am. We appreciate all of the support and love so many have shown our agency and city during this very difficult time.”
