Jackson police are looking into capitol city’s latest homicide after a car with several juveniles were fired upon at a local gas station.
Police say a 14-year-old boy was shot while sitting inside the vehicle at the Eagle Gas Station at the corner of Capitol Street and Ellis Avenue. He ended up dying of his injuries. His name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Three other teens were in the car with him. Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old were also present. Law enforcement sources say at least one of them could have also been shot. The conditions of those three are not known at this point.
Sources tell us the shooting was gang-related.
JPD says investigators are still gathering information on possible suspects.
