The gray pickup truck, driven by the teenager, fled from Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies then crashed into a ravine on 61 North.

According to Sheriff Martin Pace,

“Just after 1 a.m. Deputy David Culbertson was making a routine check of businesses on 61 north when he saw a Silverado pickup truck at the Dollar General. The vehicle was observed to be sitting at the front door with its lights out. As Deputy Culbertson pulled in to investigate, the vehicle cranked up and drove off. Culbertson turned his blue lights, and the vehicle quickly pulled over. As Deputy Culbertson approached the vehicle it sped off.”

Deputy Culberton, chased the vehicle north on Highway 61.

The 14-year-old ended up losing control of the vehicle and crossing over the median.

Vicksburg News reported that he ended up flipped upside down on the opposite side of the road, in a ditch near Childs Road.

Deputy Michael Rainey assisted Deputy Culbertson in removing the 14-year-old driver.

He was checked out by paramedics and according to Sheriff Pace, he took the truck without his parent’s knowledge or permission.
