A woman was fatally shot in her vehicle on Saturday, according to WLBT.

Deputy Chief Deric Hearn tells the TV station that officers responded to a shooting at the Valero gas station on Cooper Road at 11:32 a.m.

Officers found the victim sitting in the driver seat with a gunshot wound to the left side of her neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An unidentified male was seen walking away from the victim’s vehicle, police told WLBT. He left the scene in a silver Honda Accord.

The victim’s name has not been released pending the notification of the next of kin.
