Last Thursday at around 3:45 pm Tupelo Police were notified of a possible shooting at the Hilldale Apartments.

Officers located witness who had heard the shots as well as shell casings, bullet fragments and a van with bullet holes in it. Neither a suspect or victim was located initially and no one has been located with any physical injuries.

Witness and video evidence helped to identify Tupelo resident Rapheal Lashawn Akins, 36, as the suspect.

Wednesday Akins was interviewed and then arrested for felony shooting into a vehicle. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set bond at $30,000.

This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
