This afternoon a traffic stop was conducted by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department on Hwy 43 South near Stafford Rd.

Picayune Police Officers were nearby and assisted. A release from Picayune PD says, “Marc Rice was an occupant in the vehicle and fled, as usual.”

Rice was apprehended after a short chase. He had several outstanding warrants with the Picayune Police Department including felony eluding, felony possession of a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance. Additional charges from this incident are expected as well.

“We appreciate the partnership we have with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and are thankful for their efforts in this case,” wrote PPD.
