A Columbia man is behind bars after police say he killed his sister and initiated an 11-hour standoff.
Keith C. Sandidge, 54, allegedly fatally shot his sister and shot at police multiple times Saturday. Police issued a statement via Facebook asking that residents in that area stay inside their homes during the standoff. A following post was issued at 5:47 a.m. Sunday that said one person had been arrested and one had been found deceased.
Sherralann Longmire, 61, shared the home with her brother. She was found dead in a car on the property.
Sandidge was arrested on an aggravated assault charge, said Columbia Police Chief Michael Kelly. Further charges are pending.
