May 16, 2022, 9:00pm: The manhunt for Marty Breazeale in the area of Swamp Road, Red Hill Crossing Road, East Radio Road and Jennings Masters Road plus other areas continues with ground search teams, K-9 assets, and aerial assets.
Several calls have been received from across Jones County with possible sighting with all being checked and cleared. A possible sighting in Sandersville led deputies to a location on Willow Street where a subject fled on foot and was captured, but it was not Breazeale.
Search operations are continuing under the command of Sheriff Joe Berlin.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the whereabouts of Marty Breazeale, age 48, on a charge of First Degree Murder in the death of Brittany Nicole Holifield.
Brittany’s body was recovered on Sunday, May 15th, from the Leaf River in Jones County.
Anyone with knowledge of Breazeale’s whereabouts is urged to call 911, JCSD at 601-425-3147, or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP (7867).
This subject is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
