Jackson police have arrested a suspect in a fatal stabbing after a body was found Tuesday morning.
Officers arrived to an abandoned house in the 300 block of Baker Street around 8 am, where they found a man who had been stabbed in the torso and neck, according to Deputy Chief Deric Hearn.
Detectives then followed a lead to the vicinity of Ohio Street and California Avenue, where 29-year-old Reshawn Jones was taken into custody.
“The suspect was Mirandized and he confessed to the stabbing of the victim,” According to Deputy Chief Hearn’s press release. “The motive given was ‘homosexual gestures.’ This homicide is another senseless act of violence in the city of Jackson that are acts of violence between people who have some sort of previous association with each other.”
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
