Vicksburg cop on leave with pay after sexual assault allegations, investigation ongoing

Therese Apel

A Vicksburg police officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay after a woman told Facebook he assaulted her on duty.

Ejeane Lewis told WLBT that the officer pulled her over and she ran because she had warrants. She was arrested and taken in, and the officer allegedly offered her a ride back to her car.

She said she noticed he was driving the wrong way and she began to question him. That’s when she alleges he took her to an abandoned hospital, turned off his radio and camera, and sexually assaulted her.

Lewis says she’s spoken with Police Chief Penny Jones and a rape kit has been taken.

Vicksburg police say there is an investigation underway.
