Child dies when car drives into the side of the Clarion Ledger

A child is dead after a car crashed into The Clarion-Ledger building in downtown Jackson Saturday afternoon just after 4:30. 

The impact was to a doorway and stairs on the side of the building close to West and Pearl Streets where the homeless have been known to hide from the elements. Photos taken at the scene show heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Chezeyo Alspaugh, 7, died as a result. Kathryn Blankenship, an adult, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI.
