A man has been arrested in the death of a 2-year-old child in Jackson.
Police say on Friday, Melanie Henderson, 2, was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for unresponsiveness. Doctors found that she had blunt force trauma and sexual assault injuries.
The child died Monday morning.
Jackson Police Department said in a statement that investigators interviewed everyone that was in the house at the time of the incident.
Jermarcus Kelly, 20, has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder in Melanie’s death.
