A woman was shot Sunday night in a drive-by shooting in Bolton, officials said.
Deputies received the call around 10:45 p.m. Sunday night to respond to the 1800 block of Tucker Road in Bolton for a shooting. When they arrived, they found Kaniya Jones, 20, shot one time in the head.
Jones was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where her condition is currently unknown.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Jones was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway of her home at the time of the shooting.
The home was also shot into multiple times while the victim’s mother and a small child were inside, but they were not injured.
At this point, police have no suspects or a motive to go on. The investigation is ongoing and Hinds County says they will release more information as it becomes available.
