On Friday, June 07, at about 1:17 a.m. officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Washington Street about a person who was shot.
When officers arrived, they found a wrecked vehicle and 25-year-old Devontay Knight suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper extremities.
Knight was transported to Merit Health River Region by Medics and was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
At this time, Knight is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
