Two teens arrested for firing shots into a crowd in Jackson over the weekend

Two teens were arrested over the weekend and charged with multiple felonies, according to Jackson Police Department.

On Saturday, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 3600 block of South Frontage Road. When they got there, witnesses gave them a description of the suspect vehicle, a white SUV, which was seen leaving the area. Police said two vehicles were shot into during the incident, and there were occupants in one of them.

Shortly thereafter, officers found a white SUV at a nearby gas station. Two juveniles, ages 16 and 14 were inside the SUV. During the investigation, police recovered the weapon used to fire shots into a crowd at a gathering. Both juveniles were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor, and malicious mischief. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with this incident. The firearm, a 9mm handgun, was successfully retrieved from the suspect vehicle.
