On Friday, August 25, MHP responded to a wreck at 10:30 p.m. on Highway 43 North in Pearl River County.

A 2009 Infiniti G37 driven by 20-year-old Ramone Jackson of Picayune was driving north on Highway 43 when it traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.

A 2017 Ford Taurus driven by 25-year-old Brandon McConnell of Carriere was driving north on Highway 43 and collided with debris from the first crash.

Jackson and his 18-year-old passenger, Shelby Rae Kevwitch, died in the wreck and were pronounced dead on scene.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
