On September 19, Southwest, South Jones, and Moselle Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 1542 Monroe Road at 3:31 a.m. this morning.
Upon arrival of the first responding fire apparatus, firefighters found a small, older wood wood-framed home completely engulfed in flames.
A nearby wood-framed home was partially involved with flames as well.
Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish both fires, successfully preventing flames from traveling to a mobile home and brick home close to the scene.
A passerby had stopped and awakened individuals in the two closest structures and got them out of their homes for safety.
A Ford Mustang was also damaged in the incident. No injuries were reported.
Both structures were uninhabited.
The second structure sustained significant damage, while the first structure was catastrophically damaged.
