Morgan Howard

On Thursday, March 7, Hattiesburg Police Department Detectives and Animal Control Divisions arrested two individuals involved in separate animal cruelty incidents.
Both occurred in the 20 block of Central School Road in Hattiesburg.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two dogs both suffering from a broken leg and spine. One dog had been thrown off a second-floor balcony and the other dog had been hit by a vehicle on Monday, March 4, 2024, and had not treated for its injuries since the incident occurred.
Upon investigation, officers learned that Orlanda Wiley, 38, of Hattiesburg, was allegedly responsible for throwing the dog off the balcony; and Cory Ramsey, 31, of Hattiesburg, allegedly neglected to seek medical care for the dog that had been struck by a vehicle.
Both Wiley and Ramsey were arrested and charged with one (1) count of Animals, Dog or Cat: Aggravated Cruelty. The two have been booked into the Forrest County Jail.
This is an ongoing investigation and additional details will be released as they become available.
