According to WCBI, a house fire took the lives of two children in Lowndes County on Tuesday.
The fire broke out at a home at 630 Deer Trail at about 3:00 a.m.
Lowndes County Fire Coordinator Neil Austin told WCBI that District 3 and District 1 volunteers quickly put out the fire.
According to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant, four other people were injured.
One person was critical at Baptist Golden Triangle, one person was flown to Jackson for treatment, one person was taken to a Jackson hospital, and the fourth person was treated and released at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
