Two Arrested After Unrestrained Baby, Drugs Found In Car In Ridgeland

A man and woman were arrested in Ridgeland on County Line Road after what officers found in their car.
On October 29, at 10:50 p.m. a Ridgeland police officer conducted a traffic stop on East County Line Road near West Frontage Road in Ridgeland.
The driver of the vehicle was Brittney Leshay Bernard and a passenger in the vehicle was Damien Demond Mason.
The officer noticed an unrestrained 1-year-old child in the vehicle as well. A strong smell of marijuana was coming from the windows of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed 41 doses of suspected MDMA (Ecstasy), 4 doses of suspected Hydrocodone, 10 grams of suspected marijuana, $1,905 in cash, and a loaded handgun.
Police said the gun was found near where Mason was sitting. Both individuals were arrested for multiple drug offenses and Mason was charged with Weapon, Possession by a felon.
