Tupelo Police Arrest Man in Connection with Motor Vehicle Theft

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle following an investigation by the Tupelo Police Department.

On August 16, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of South Green Street. When officers arrived, they gathered information from the property owner, including a description of the stolen vehicle.

Two days later, on August 18, officers received an alert from a license plate reader indicating the presence of the stolen vehicle in the area of McCullough Blvd. Officers located and stopped the vehicle, taking the driver into custody without incident.

Following further investigation, 39-year-old Christopher R. Morgan of Tupelo was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle on August 19. He appeared before Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen, who set his bond at $5,000.

The case is set to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further proceedings.
