On June 13, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the Auburn Community. When deputies arrived, they learned that 49-year-old Kenneth Clardy, of Tupelo, MS, had made inappropriate sexual comments to a juvenile while visiting a friend’s home.
When the juvenile’s father confronted Clardy, Clardy attempted to leave the property in his vehicle. In the process, Clardy used his vehicle to strike a UTV/ATV occupied by the juvenile’s father, pushing the UTV into a ditch and causing minor injuries to the driver.
Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Clardy’s arrest on charges of Enticement of a Child and Aggravated Assault.
Kenneth Clardy has been charged with:
- (1) Enticement of a Child
- (2) Aggravated Assault
A Lee County Justice Court Judge set Clardy’s bond at $250,000, with $125,000 allocated to each charge.
Sheriff Jim H. Johnson urges anyone with additional information about this incident to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Department.
