Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic violence call on County Road 931 in the Auburn community at approximately 8:25 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found that a 57-year-old woman had been assaulted by her 36-year-old son, Gary Brandon Conway, at the home.
The victim was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center with substantial injuries to her right eye.
Due to the severity of the injuries, Conway has been charged with aggravated assault under the domestic violence statute.
Given the aggravated nature of the incident and Conway’s previous criminal history, a Lee County Justice Court Judge set his bond at $150,000. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury in January 2025.
