Tupelo Man Catches Three Masked Intruders In His Home, Scares Them Off By Firing Gun

Tupelo Police are investigating a home invasion that happened late Monday night.

On July 15, at approximately 11:00 PM, a resident in the 400 block of Goodlett Street reported that his home was broken into while he was inside.

The resident heard a loud noise from the rear of his house and armed himself with a firearm. He encountered a masked intruder. The victim fired his weapon, prompting at least three suspects to flee from the home. The masked suspect was dressed in all black and appeared to be armed. The second suspect wore a black shirt and black pants, while the third suspect wore black pants and a grey shirt. They were last seen running toward Robbins Field on Jefferson Street.

A witness nearby reported hearing gunshots and saw a silver, older model Toyota 4-Runner speeding away from the area eastbound on W. Jackson Street.

No injuries were reported, and evidence has been recovered from the scene.
