On Tuesday, August 13, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 2661 Old Highway 61 in Tunica, Mississippi.
Deputies and first responders arrived at the scene to find a male subject, later identified as 22-year-old Jermaine Jones of Tunica, lying on the ground next to a vehicle with a single gunshot wound.
Despite efforts by Pafford EMS, Jones succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Tunica County Coroner Glen Grant. The incident is being investigated as a homicide, and an autopsy has been scheduled by the Tunica County Coroner. The deceased has been transported to the Mississippi Crime Lab in Jackson for further examination.
