Heavy rainfall is expected to develop and persist through midday Thursday, mainly across central to northeast Mississippi. Areas of flash flooding remain likely, and significant flash flooding is possible. Rainfall amounts of 6-10″ with locally higher amounts remain possible. Flooding of numerous roads and some structures is expected, and water rescues may be needed. Moderate river flooding is possible.

Heat stress conditions will increase across the west today and areawide late week into early weekend. Heat related illnesses will be likely with prolonged outdoor exposure. Make sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if outdoors.
