Thursday Weather: Foggy this AM, warming up to around 80

Mary Apel

Areas of dense fog have developed across parts of our forecast area this morning. Drive slowly through areas of fog, and be prepared for visibility to quickly drop to one quarter mile or less.

After a foggy start to the day today, clouds should break by the afternoon and allow for temperatures to warm into the upper upper 70s to near 80 degrees. There will be a slight chance for rain showers in southeast Arkansas and into northwestern Mississippi.

As a storm system approaches our region overnight, the chance for rain showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will increase from west to east by Friday morning. Most rain should remain west of Interstate 55 through daybreak. Temperatures will be warm and range from the upper 50s to lower 60s with the increasing clouds and southerly winds.
