Thursday Weather: Extreme Heat Stress today through Saturday

Dangerous to significant heat stress is expected to persist through at least early this weekend. Areas west of I-55 have observed multiple days of heat indices between 110-115 degrees. As such, an Extreme risk for dangerous heat has been introduced for these areas. Please be sure to take breaks from the outdoors and stay hydrated.

Today will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 90s to near 100F. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are possible, especially along and east of Interstate 55 corridor and into the Pine Belt near the Highway 84 and Interstate 59 corridors.

Tonight will be mostly clear, outside of an isolated shower or storm in early evening in the Pine Belt near the Highway 84 and Interstate 20 corridors. Lows will only fall into the mid to upper 70s.
