Three Sanitation Workers Arrested for Embezzlement After Allegedly Stealing Rolls Of Trash Bags

On Tuesday, July 30th, the Starkville Police Department arrested three individuals in connection with embezzlement and fraud committed in public office.

The suspects, 20-year-old Dylan Coleman (from Sturgis), 31-year-old Douglas Erwin (from Starkville), and 30-year-old Stevenson Tutton, Jr. (from Starkville), were employees of the City of Starkville Sanitation Department at the time of the incidents.

The arrests stem from allegations that the three employees were involved in stealing rolls of trash bags from the sanitation department. These bags are part of the City’s annual program that supplies garbage bags to residents.

The suspects are currently being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail.
