On Wednesday, March 20, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 15 in Perry County.

A 2024 Peterbilt driven by 32-year-old Michael Johnson of Carrolton, Mississippi, traveled south on Highway 15 when it collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 38-year-old James M. Kitchens of Ovett, Mississippi, traveling north on Highway 15. James M. Kitchens and his passengers, Samantha E. Overstreet and Krymsin Kitchens, received fatal injuries from the crash and were pronounced dead on the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
