According to WLOX, a teacher at Ocean Springs High School was jailed on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
On Thursday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said that 38-year-old James Hawkins was arrested.
Sheriff John Ledbetter said that they confirmed allegations and arrested the physics teacher Thursday afternoon. He has been charged with one count of Sexual Battery.
The investigation is ongoing and police say Hawkins could face more charges.
