On September 7, officers in Tupelo stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Doe Run Road.

During the stop, officers noticed the smell of marijuana and ordered the suspect to exit the vehicle.

The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit before they lost sight of the car on a county road.

Approximately an hour later, the suspect, 22-year-old Torrean M. Albert, of Belden, was located and arrested for multiple traffic violations.

Following further investigation, on September 9, Albert was charged with felony fleeing.

Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Albert’s bond at $15,000, and the case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
