Wingard Home, a local homeless shelter in Jackson, recently received a helping hand from players on the Millsaps College football team.
On Monday, a group of players, along with their coach, volunteered to help out with a variety of tasks around the shelter, including tearing down a wall in the men’s dormitory and maintaining the yard.
The shelter posted on Facebook thanking the young men for their hard work and dedication to supporting the ministry’s efforts.
“May God bless them for their hard work and dedication!” Wingard Home said in a statement.
Wingard Home is inviting other community members, youth groups, churches, or anyone interested in volunteering to get involved in their mission to support those in need.
If you want to bring a group and volunteer or serve on your own, give them a call at (601) 906-1976.
For those looking to make a difference, the shelter encourages reaching out via phone or message to find out how to lend a hand.
