The community donated luggage to the Prentiss County Child Protective Services (CPS) and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department to be used for children who are entering the custody of the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services.
Transitioning into a new home can be a daunting experience for children, especially when they have to carry their belongings in trash bags or large black bags. These donations of proper luggage help alleviate that embarrassment, giving the children a sense of dignity and belonging during a challenging time.
“This generous support helps make the transition smoother and more positive for both the children and their new families,” said a representative from Prentiss County CPS. “By providing them with proper luggage, we can significantly reduce the stress and fear associated with moving into a new environment.”
The Prentiss County Child Protection Services Office and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department continue to welcome donations of luggage and bags. Community members who wish to contribute can drop off their donations at either location.
