On March 21, witnesses saw a white male attempt to break into a home in the 500 block of Prospres Ridge Road in Lamar County.

Along with the eyewitness accounts, security footage helped Lamar County deputies identify the suspect.

Several firearms were stolen from the home.

A warrant was secured for 36-year-old Anthony Drew Townsend from Seminary.

The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Investigation Divisions located him hiding under a travel trailer in the area and with the assistance of a LCSO K-9, he was taken into custody.

A hold was also placed on him for the Department of Corrections. The stolen weapons were recovered in some woods on the victim’s property.
