According to WLBT, a middle school teacher in Morton was arrested for sexual battery of a minor.
47-year-old Mark Jones worked at Lake Middle School as a teacher.
A report on August 17, was filed with the Morton Police Department for the possible sexual assault of a minor. The Morton Police Department contacted CPS regarding the information they received.
Mark Jones was arrested for sexual assault by the Morton Police Department on September 5 after a forensic interview was conducted on the child.
According to MPD, Jones turned himself into the police and was given a bond of $500,000 per charge.
