Thursday morning, a teacher at Highland Bluff Elementary in Rankin County was struck by a vehicle.

According to Sharon Patrick with the Rankin County School District, the teacher was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The extent of the teacher’s injuries is unknown.

The Flowood police department is investigating the incident, and the school said they are fully cooperating to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Sharon Patrick stated,

Our thoughts are with all involved, and we are committed to supporting them and their families during this difficult time.
