The Criminal Investigation Division of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest of 53-year-old Theron Gates, from Tupelo, on multiple drug-related charges.
He was arrested on Saturday night during nighttime narcotic operations conducted by the Patrol Division.
While patrolling the highways, county roads, and streets of Pontotoc, deputies apprehended Gates. They found he was in possession of a significant amount of cocaine, a felony quantity of marijuana, THC chocolate chip cookies, suspected Xanax pills, scales, a grinder, and numerous clear baggies.
The Criminal Investigation Division charged Gates with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). In addition, the Patrol Division charged him with several misdemeanor offenses, including Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Gates was booked into the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department Adult Detention Center. A Justice Court Judge set his bond at $10,000.
