On Thursday night, June 30, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department reported the arrest of 27-year-old Jalyn Vaughn, of Pittsboro. Vaughn was apprehended by patrol deputies on Old Airport Road for multiple traffic offenses.
During the arrest, deputies conducted a search of Vaughn’s vehicle and discovered a Glock 43 pistol.
A subsequent criminal background check revealed that Vaughn was a convicted felon, leading to charges of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. Additionally, the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) had active warrants for his arrest due to a probation violation.
Vaughn was booked into the Pontotoc County Adult Detention Center, where a Pontotoc County Justice Court Judge set his bond at $5,000. Following his booking, Vaughn was released to MDOC authorities.
