Pike County Man Arrested For 17 Counts Of Possession Of Firearm By Convicted Felon

Morgan Howard

On September 25, Pike County deputies responded a home on River Ridge Road in Summit.

Thomas “Tommy” Brister called Central Dispatch stating that someone had taken firearms out of his home.

Brister showed Deputies a gun safe in the house that contained other firearms.

A criminal history search showed that Brister was a convicted felon and was prohibited from possessing any type of firearm.

Pike County Criminal Investigations Division was notified, and a search warrant was executed at the house.

Brister was arrested and booked into the Pike County Jail for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (17 counts).

Brister had been previously convicted of Simple Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (2 counts) but petitioned the court to have his gun rights restored and they were restored in 2010.

On May 17, 2012, Brister was convicted and sentenced for Failure to Support Minor Children and lost his firearm rights again.
