Picayune police looking for last of three alleged ribeye and computer shoplifters

Picayune police say they have two of three women accused of trying to steal ribeyes and computers in custody.

Bad weather does not excuse bad decisions, according to Picayune Police Department.

The agency took to social media on Wednesday with a tongue-in-cheek post mocking a trio who allegedly tried to steal computers and ribeye steaks during a trip to their city.

“We cannot believe that it didn’t get through last time or that obviously some do not check social media posts before deciding to crime in Picayune, but here we are again! Some fine folks from the Laurel area must have thought that because there is a hurricane coming that we took the week off!” the post reads.

Police say Alexia Jackson, Azzja Keyes, and Jasmine Keyes “attempted to get some hurricane discounts of the five-finger kind.”

The post says the three women were seen by an asset protection employee and that they were allegedly trying to take over $4,050 worth of computers and ribeye steaks. Then they allegedly ran from the cops.

“That’s not how this works! That’s not how any of this works!” the post reads.  “…Officers were on the scene quickly, but once again someone decided to try and do some spontaneous cardio with Corporal Lucas who took two of the three into custody.”

Jasmine Keyes allegedly got away but left her ID and her sister with police.

“Do better ladies! Now you will all face felony shoplifting charges! Don’t worry Jasmine, your reservation at the Millard All-Inclusive Resort will never expire!” said the Facebook post.  “Hurricane Francine will be here soon, but we aren’t going anywhere. We hope to have no more updates like this anytime soon, but rest assured if you decide to crime we are gonna make sure you do the time. (Badum Tsk)”

The post ended on a wish and a warning.

“Stay dry Picayune, and DO NOT CRIME!”
