On March 7, detectives with the Picayune Police Department Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at 518 SouthSide Street Picayune, MS 39466, the residence of Craig Lavelle Nelson.
During the search warrant, Denist J’marcus Brown was located near a vehicle outside of the house, on the property.
Brown was found to be in possession of a distribution amount of fentanyl. Detectives located Nelson and his wife inside the residence. A search of the residence was conducted where a distribution amount of marijuana as well as firearms were located.
Brown was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute within 1500 feet of a church and disorderly conduct.
Nelson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm. Nelson’s wife was released from the scene.
