According to the Walters Volunteer Fire Station, a home was destroyed by a fire last night after the storms rolled through Mississippi.

Walters Volunteer Fire Station was called to a shed fire on Walter Road at 7:58 p.m. and as they were finishing up there, they were called to a home on Woodrow Martin Road at 8:16 p.m.

The Puckett Fire Department was also called to assist.

The house was destroyed in the flames.

According to the fire chief, the residents were out of town at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, although at first glance, officials believe the cause may have been lightning.
