A Monticello man is in custody on Attempted Murder charges after a shooting at The Grand Apartments on Colony Park Drive in Pearl on Sunday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Pearl Police Department received multiple 911 calls about gunshots heard near The Grand Apartments or Colony Park Apartments.

The apartments are at 200 Colony Park Drive. Officers arrived and learned that two males got into a fight that involved guns. Detectives detained one man who was there for questioning.  

Pearl PD detectives arrived on scene and began their investigation. Throughout the investigation, detectives learned that a second male involved in the altercation was dropped off at an area hospital with gunshot wounds

Later that evening, Pearl Police detectives arrested the individual responsible for the shooting.

18-year-old Antonio Devon Pittman Jr. was charged with one count of Attempted Murder with additional charges pending.

Antonio Pittman Jr was transported to the Rankin County Jail. The second male is listed in critical condition at an area hospital.

This case will be presented to the Rankin County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
